Christina Ricci and boyfriend James Heerdegen are engaged

ABC didn't have much success with "Pan Am" last season, but it's turned out pretty well for one of its stars, Christina Ricci.

Ricci confirmed Friday (Feb. 1) that she and James Heerdegen, whom she met while filming the show, are engaged.

"Yeah, [we got engaged] a couple months back, Ricci tells Us Weekly. The soon-to-be 33-year-old actress was spotted wearing a ring in October, but she kept quiet about the status of her relationship with Heerdegen until Friday.

Heerdegen worked as a dolly grip -- the technician who moves the camera dolly around during shots -- on "Pan Am" and has held similar jobs on a number of other TV shows and movies, including "Elementary," "Nurse Jackie" and "Sex and the City 2."

The couple hasn't set a wedding date yet.
