'Bullet to the Head' bombs at box office Friday, 'Warm Bodies' leads

bullet-to-the-head.jpgIt has not been a good run for cast members of "The Expendables" in their latest solo efforts.

Sylvester Stallone's action movie "Bullet to the Head" flopped at the box office Friday (Feb. 1), earning only $1.7 million on its opening day. The poor performance follows meager openings for his "Expendables" co-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger ("The Last Stand," $7.2 million opening weekend) and Jason Statham ("Parker," $7 million opening weekend).

Friday's No. 1 spot went to the zombie rom-com "Warm Bodies," which made $8.1 million, per studio estimates. That puts it on pace to make about $20 million for the weekend, a very solid number for a Super Bowl weekend.

Last weekend's leader, "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters," came in second Friday with an estimated $2.9 million. "Silver Linings Playbook" was third with $2.4 million, and "Mama" was fourth with $2.3 million. "Bullet to the Head" rounds out the Top 5.
