12-year-old 'swatter' charged in Ashton Kutcher hostage situation prank

12-year-old-swatter-charged-ashton-kutcher.jpgBack on Oct. 3, Ashton Kutcher was the victim of "swatting," a new form of "pranking" where someone calls 911 and sends the police rushing to a celebrity's house because of reports of violence or gun fire. In the instance of Kutcher's house, authorities were sent there after receiving word of a possible hostage situation.

Now a 12-year-old boy has been charged in the incident. The suspect, whose name is being withheld due to his young age, was charged with two felony counts of making false bomb threats and computer intrusion for allegedly calling in fake 911 emergencies at Kutcher's house and at a bank in the Los Angeles area, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

When the police began investigating the suspect back in December, they described his home life as "incredibly dysfunctional."

Incidents like the one at Kutcher's house have also happened to Tom Cruise, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Bruce and Kris Jenner.
