World's largest hips belong to 39-year-old Mikel Ruffinelli

There really is a world record for everything. Don't believe that? Mikel Ruffinelli will make you a believer. According to the Huffington Post, the World Record Academy has confirmed that Ruffinelli has set the world record for largest hips.

Ruffinelli is a 39-year-old mother of four, in Los Angeles, Ca., who weighs in at 420 pounds. Her record-breaking hips measure over eight feet in circumference, and she's proud of it. "Men don't fancy skinny girls," Mikel says, "They like an hourglass figure."

She has proof to back that up, her husband of ten years. When asked what he first noticed about his wife, Reggie Brooks says, "She has a sweet disposition about her that really attracted me to her." He's happy with his marriage, joking, "I like to tell people all the time, 'I have a license to work with heavy equipment.'"

Mikel blames her weight gain on her four pregnancies, the first at 22-years-old, saying, "I don't see why else the weight would go to me hips, although, I do eat lots." She consumes nearly 3,000 calories a day.

She's not interested in dieting, though, because she doesn't suffer any health problems and she's no longer self-conscious about her shape, saying, "As I got older, I learned to love my body and now I'm not afraid to show it off."
