Tony Sparano fired: Jets' offensive coordinator let go amid Tim Tebow-Mark Sanchez ruckus

mark-sanchez-tim-tebow-tony-sparano-fired-getty.jpgAfter a particularly bad season the New York Jets are cleaning house and among those let go is offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, who was hired in January 2012 to help the Jets' struggling offense after he was fired as head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

However, under Sparano the Jets' offense was ranked 30th in the entire league. He was also unable to find a way to consistently use the newly signed Tim Tebow, as Jets' starting quarterback Mark Sanchez and his replacement Greg McElroy struggled throughout the season.

In addition to Sparano, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine and quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh are also gone as their contracts were not renewed. The three join former general manager Mike Tannenbaum who was fired last week.
