Secret Sylvester Stallone tapes destroyed as part of blackmail settlement

sylvester-stallone-secret-tapes-destroyed-toni-ann-filiti-gi.jpgIt was revealed last week that Sylvester Stallone was blackmailed by his half-sister in 1987 into a multimillion dollar settlement, after alleging abuse. Now, the New York Post says that part of the settlement included the destruction of cassette tapes containing conversations between Sly and his half-sister.

Toni-Ann Filiti claimed, 26 years ago, that she was physically abused by Stallone, which the actor denied. Sly eventually settled with his sister to make the claims go away, paying her $2 million up front, with monthly payments of $16,666.66 for the rest of her life. She was also able to get an additional $50,000 a year for medical expenses.

Stallone and Filiti's mother, Jacqueline Stallone, called the allegation blackmail and described her daughter as a "pill popping drug addict desperate for cash."

At one point Filiti's father, Anthony, wrote to offer his daughter money to change her last name, so they wouldn't be associated. She died from lung cancer in August 2012.
