Rapper Lupe Fiasco removed from inauguration event after antiwar rant

lupe-fiasco-kicked-off-stage-gi.jpgLupe Fiasco had an interesting Sunday night. The rapper's performance at a pre-inauguration event was cut short after an extended version of an antiwar song.

The LA Times reports that while organizers say Fiasco wasn't kicked off stage for the song, concert organizers do admit, "This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move onto the next act."

During the song, Fiasco improvised lyrics with such lines as, "[Rush] Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist." He also rapped about President Barack Obama, saying, "Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say s***. That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either."

Eventually the lights were turned out on Lupe and a group took to the stage to escort him off. Fiasco has been critical of Obama in the past, calling him, "the biggest terrorist." He also claims, "You know, the root cause of terrorism is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists."

Watch the video below (beware some rough language) and let us know what you think. Was Lupe booted because the crowd wasn't into his show or due to lyrical content?
