Randy Travis guilty plea in drunk driving case expected

randy-travis-getty-2.jpgLater this week, country music star Randy Travis is expected to enter a guilty plea in a drunk driving case in Texas. Travis was arrested after crashing his Trans Am, intoxicated and completely naked at the time of the accident. That was Travis' second run-in with the law that involved alcohol in 2012. In February, he was arrested for public intoxication.

Now the AP is reporting that Travis will appear in court Thursday, Jan. 31 in Sherman, Texas, where it is expected he will plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge that could land him up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine.

His attorney says Travis is "looking forward to putting this behind him and moving on." He also says that Travis has stopped drinking.

Travis' charge for allegedly threatening officers is no longer on file with the court. At the time he was arrested, Travis was reportedly in the back of the squad saying he was going shoot the troopers working the case.
