Josh Brolin arrested for public intoxication on New Year's Day

Josh Brolin brought in the new year in a not-so festive manner. The actor was arrested and booked for public intoxication in the city of Santa Monica, Calif.

TMZ reports Brolin was arrested just before midnight on the first day of 2013, and spent several hours in a Santa Monica jail. Brolin received no formal citation, so he won't have to attend court or face any charges.

A source says the "Gangster Squad" star simply partied a little too hard with his buddies. Well, it would appear Josh went home with a brand new mugshot as a party favor.

His previous mugshot comes by way of a 2004 domestic battery arrest for an incident involving his wife, Diane Lane. Charges were dropped in that case as well.
