Jon Stewart on NRA: 'Joaquin Phoenix-style joke' says Daily Show host

The commercial questions why the president's kids attend a school with armed guards, while he won't allow them in all schools. Stewart joked, "And why does he get to veto bills and command an army, when we don't?"

After claiming he's not a big conspiracy guy, Stewart quipped that if he didn't know any better, "after seeing that ad, I would think the NRA is either an elaborate, avant-garde, Joaquin Phoenix-style joke," comparing the situation to the well-documented rap career of the actor, "or a false flag operation run by Michael Moore in an attempt to discredit responsible gun owners."

In addition to the commercial, the NRA also released a video game this week, which has outraged Connecticut officials.
