Jamie Foxx: Spike Lee's 'Django Unchained' comments 'irresponsible'

Thumbnail image for jamie-foxx-hb-getty.jpgJamie Foxx is the star of Quentin Tarantino's newest movie, "Django Unchained," and the actor isn't too happy with what Spike Lee thinks of the film. The "Do The Right Thing" director calls the film "disrespectful," while refusing to actually see it..

According to The Guardian, Foxx takes issue with that opinion, saying while he respects Lee as a director, he questions what is good enough for him, saying, "He didn't like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn't like Tyler Perry, he doesn't like anybody, I think he's sort of run his course."

Foxx's main complaint seems to be that Spike is passing judgement without actually seeing the movie, saying, "He gets a little shady when he's taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that's irresponsible."

"Django Unchained" has endured quite a bit of criticism since it's Christmas release. Most recently, the Weinstein Company had a line of action figures pulled after African American groups decided to boycott them for depicting slaves.
