Golden Globes 2013: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler fake nominations for 'Dog President'
If you were watching carefully during some of the 70th Golden Globe Awards announcements, you may have noticed a few unusual nominees. The two actors were unexpectedly honored for a TV movie named "Dog President." Although they had some interesting stage names, the two were played by Golden Globe co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. We saw Poehler first, during the award presentation for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries. When the presenters read the name of Julianne Moore (who eventually won), we saw a different red-head. Apparently, this was Darcy St. Fudge, a psychic who solves her own murder in "Dog President."
It was really Amy Poehler with a red wig and big teeth.
Fey had to wait awhile for her chance to put on a costume. Just before Kevin Costner won the Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries category, we met "Dog President" nominee Damian Francisco, a professional volleyball player battling restless-leg syndrome.
Alas, neither Darcy nor Damian could win their awards. That's what happens when your TV movie doesn't actually exist.
