Donald Trump demands $5 million from Bill Maher after birth certificate stunt

Bill Maher, it's time to put your money where your mouth is. After claiming he'd donate money to charity to see Donald Trump's birth certificate, Trump is demanding the $5 million promised to him now that he's shipped proof of his American citizenship to Maher.

It's clear that Maher's stunt was a response to Trump offering to pay $5 million to see a copy of President Barack Obama's birth certificate. On "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" earlier this week, Maher said he wanted to see proof that Trump wasn't the "spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan."

"Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan," Trump's lawyer says in a letter sent to Maher the following day, via Yahoo! News. "Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute."

Will Maher pay up? That remains to be seen, but if he's "not looking for a feud with Donald Trump" like he claims," he probably should donate the $5 million he promised.
