Britney Spears and Jason Trawick split after year-long engagement

Just hours after she announced her exit from "The X Factor," news has arrived that Britney Spears is also saying goodbye to another big part of her life: Her fiance Jason Trawick. TMZ has confirmed that Spears and Trawick broke up after a year-long engagement.

Trawick put a ring on Spears' finger in December 2011, and has been by her side constantly for several years. He was once her agent, and then later was made co-conservator of Spears (along with her father, Jamie Spears) by the courts, who have decided that Spears is incapable of making major life decisions on her own.

Jamie Spears and his lawyers are in court today (Friday, Jan. 11) removing Trawick from the conservatorship. he's also no longer involved in Spears' management, as she recently switched to CAA from William Morris Endeavor.

Sources say that the split was amicable and that the couple simply grew apart.
