If she was still alive, Aaliyah would have been 34 today. The 22-year-old "One in a Million" singer died in an airplane crash in the Bahamas on August 25, 2001. She is gone but not forgotten, as judged by the outpouring of love for Aaliyah on Twitter.

Her name has been a trending topic on the social media site all day, with many sending the deceased R&B singer birthday wishes. Even some of her close friends sent Aaliyah their love, including Missy Elliot, who tweeted, "WeMissuAaliyah! Its not a day go pass we don't think of u & how your music still have a impact on the World! RipBabygirl."

Fans will soon have more of a reason to celebrate Aaliyah's legacy. She has a posthumous album on the way that is said to consist of 16 unreleased songs. Though it was initially reported that the record would come out by the end of 2012, it seems like it will instead be released in 2013.

Over the summer, a song called "Enough Said" was released that features Aaliyah and Drake and was produced by Noah "40" Shebib. You can listen to it below:
