Shaun White cuts hair for Locks of Love: What do you think of the short 'do?

Professional snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White cut off his trademark long red hair Wednesday (Dec. 18) to donate to Locks of Love, which provides hairpieces to disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.

White, whose locks earned him the nickname the Flying Tomato, posted video of his hair's transformation on YouTube.

"I have been thinking about this for awhile," a nervous White says in the clip titled, "It's Only Hair." "But it's for a good cause so I wanna do it. Somebody needs it more than I do."

Before going in for the seemingly impromptu cut, he adds, "I haven't told anyone I'm doing this. I'm just gonna show up and mind-freak people."
