Sam Champion marries partner Rubem Robierb in New York

"Good Morning America" weatherman Sam Champion wed his partner, Rubem Robierb, on Friday (Dec. 21) surrounded by friends, family and his fellow "GMA" anchors at Champion's New York apartment, reports ABC News.

Robin Roberts read an Elizabeth Barrett Browning poem as part of the 10-minute ceremony officiated by New York State Supreme Court Justice George Silver. Robierb's mother and sisters even joined in on the celebration via Skype from Brazil.  

The couple, who met through mutual friends in Miami, announced their engagement in October. They plan to have a party in Miami on New Year's Eve to continue celebrating their nuptials.

"THANK YOU FOR ALL the LOVE," Champion tweeted to his well-wishers before Friday's ceremony.
