Lindsay Lohan hires private investigator to dig up dirt on Tiffany Mitchell

In what sounds like an awesome premise for a CBS procedural series, Lindsay Lohan has hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on Tiffany Mitchell, the woman who accused Lohan of assault in a New York nightclub this week.

TMZ reports that Lohan -- who swears she's innocent -- has hired a P.I. to see if Mitchell "has any criminal past" or if she's made similar allegations in the past. Mitchell has yet to file any civil charges but she did retain celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred.

Seriously, think of the TV series possibilities here. Every week a detective could investigate a different Lindsay Lohan scandal. They'd never run out of material.
