Kat Von D and Deadmau5 are engaged, thanks to Twitter

Here is perhaps the ultimate 21st century celebrity love story. An electronic dance music star proposes to a reality-TV fixture via Twitter, and she accepts.

The parties involved are Deadmau5 and Kat Von D. Late Saturday, he tweeted a picture of an engagement ring with the message, "I can't wait for Christmas so .... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?"

The photo also had some text: "Changing the diamond to a black diamond FYI. Sorry for the jpg ... they'll finish the actual ring soon I hope."

So, yeah, it's not the most traditionally romantic proposal. Von D, though, didn't seem to mind. She responded to the proposal a few minutes later with a string of 15 exclamation points, then shared this with her followers:

"Mi corazon!!! Thank you all for the lovely congratulations! Please excuse me while I go squeeze the hell out of my fiance!"

Deadmau5 and Kat Von D started dating in September, broke up briefly last month and then got back together. And now, a social-media proposal for the ages. Or at least this age.
