Justin Bieber murder plot: Manager Scooter Braun speaks out

Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, is speaking out about keeping the superstar safe in the wake of an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting Bieber.

"We take every precaution to protect and insure the safety of Justin and his fans," Braun tells Us Weekly.

Dana Martin, a convicted killer currently serving two life sentences for raping and murdering a 15-year-old girl, allegedly recruited a fellow inmate to strangle and castrate Bieber and his bodyguard. After his release from Las Cruces prison in New Mexico, Mark Staake enlisted the help of his nephew Tanner Ruane to carry out the killings. Martin, who is reportedly obsessed with Bieber and even has a tattoo of the singer on his leg, gave strict instructions to strangle the victims with a paisley tie and then castrate them.

For an unknown reason, Martin blew the whistle on his own plot, and Staake and Ruane were apprehended by police.
