Jack White takes down Lady Gaga: 'It's all image with no meaning'

Jack White is not sold on Lady Gaga's brand of celebrity. The former White Stripes guitarist admits in a new interview that he doesn't find the Mother Monster to be particularly authentic -- or believe in the image she promotes.

"I don't think she lives it, because it's all artifice," White tells Esquire. "It's all image with no meaning behind it. You can't sink your teeth into it. It's a sound bite. It's very of this age, because that's what people want."

Speaking of which, White doesn't think as many celebrities should be on Twitter as there are. He takes issue with "modern celebrity" and reality stars, and thinks that Twitter is a medium that should be used by people who are (intentionally) funny.

"Twitter is the most perfect example of modern living. I think the only people who should have [Twitter accounts] are comedians. Because it's all about one-liners," he says.
