Hillary Clinton suffers concussion after fainting

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is recovering from a concussion, the State Department says.

Clinton has been suffering from a stomach virus, which forced her to cancel a trip to the Middle East. The virus caused her to become dehydrated, and she fainted, hitting her head, the State Department says in a statement.

"She has been recovering at home and will continue to be monitored regularly by her doctors," the statement reads. "At their recommendation, she will continue to work from home next week, staying in regular contact with department and other officials. She is looking forward to being back in the office soon."

Clinton was scheduled to testify next week before a Senate committee looking into the September attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi, Libya. Two deputy secretaries of state will take her place at the hearing, according to reports.
