Halle Berry and Chaka Khan earn 2013 BET Honors

Actress Halle Berry and singer Chaka Khan are among the list of those that will be celebrated will at the 2013 BET Honors on Jan. 12, the network announced Thursday (Dec. 20).  

Per the Associated Press, basketball star Lisa Leslie, music executive Clarence Avant and religious leader T.D. Jakes will also be honored at the event in Washington, D.C., at the Warner Theatre.

BET Honors celebrates top-performing African Americans in music, literature, entertainment, education and more.

Actress Gabrielle Union hosts the special, which airs Feb. 11.
