Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore divorce: Actor finally files a year after split

More than a year after Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore announced they were ending their six-year marriage, the 34-year-old "That '70s Show" star filed for divorce Friday (Dec. 21).

TMZ reports that Kutcher cited irreconcilable differences in the documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

The site also supposedly has the scoop on why Kutcher waited so long after the couple's November 2011 separation to file: He apparently wanted to give his estranged wife a chance to file first.

Kutcher and Moore split following allegations that he was cheating. He's currently dating his "That '70s Show" co-star Mila Kunis.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," Moore, 50, said at the time of the split.

While Kutcher said, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."
