Adele baby fine: 'Skyfall' singer must pay the price for not registering newborn

adele-baby-fine-gi.jpgAdele faces a $1,600 fine in the UK for failing to register her newborn baby with authorities by the standard 42-day deadline.

The "Rolling in the Deep" singer gave birth on Oct. 19, 2012 but The Sun says the registrar has confirmed neither Adele nor the baby's father, Simon Konecki, have filed the legally required paperwork.

A source tells the paper, "Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it's probably just an oversight on their part."

Or it could be that with all the attention she's received over the birth of the child, Adele is not eager to make public the child's name or birth details.

The singer and her fiance will reportedly start to receive warning letters, as the registrar itself faces a fine if the baby is not registered within three months' time.
