'Twilight' fan fiction 'The Office' lands book deal: The next 'Fifty Shades of Grey'?

bella-edward-breaking-dawn-2.jpgAfter the success of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" series, which was originally conceived and posted as "Twilight" fan fiction about Edward and Bella, it's no surprise that publishers are newly interested in tapping that particular market.

One of the most popular fan fiction works in the early days of the "Twilight" fandom was "The Office" -- a story that reimagined Edward and Bella as an executive and his ambitious intern. Naturally, steamy sex ensued. Now, THR reports that "The Office" has been reworked and will be published with the title "Beautiful Bastard."

The original fan fiction, written by Christina Hobbs, a junior high counselor, was downloaded over 2 million times before being taken off the internet in 2009, when she decided to look for a book deal. She joined forces with Lauren Billings and together, under the pen name Christina Lauren, they reworked the story significantly. The first book will be published on Feb. 12, 2013. A sequel, "Beautiful Stranger," will follow on May 28, 2013.
