'Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2' makes $30 million-plus in late-night opening
The final "Twilight" film got off to a very strong start at the box office Thursday night (Nov. 15) -- albeit only a tiny bit stronger than the most recent "Twilight" film."Breaking Dawn Part 2" earned an estimated $30.4 million in late-night showings -- some theaters started screening the movie at 10 p.m., in addition to the usual midnight showings. That's a record for the series, just surpassing the $30.3 million "Breaking Dawn Part 1" made in midnight screenings last year.
The movie, the final installment of the vampire saga starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, also fell well short of the all-time midnight box-office record held by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" ($43.5 million).
"Breaking Dawn Part 2" is projected to make $150 million or more in its opening weekend. The franchise's biggest opener to date is "New Moon," which grossed $142.8 million in 2009.
Will you bee seeing "Breaking Dawn Part 2" this weekend?
