Remember, remember: 'V for Vendetta' writer releases single on Guy Fawkes Day

Alan Moore, the same man who reminded us to "remember, remember, the fifth of November" in "V for Vendetta," has done something a little special for Guy Fawkes Day this year. He has teamed up with musician Joe Brown and created a song called "The Decline of English Murder," which was made available for download though Occupation Records on Nov. 5.

This is the first single ever released by the notoriously secretive Moore. All profits from the Occupation Records sales go towards the Occupy movement, a cause which has been influenced by Moore's "V for Vendetta" and even makes use of the Guy Fawkes mask created for the "V for Vendetta" movie. The renowned comic book writer has made it clear time and again that he is a supporter of the Occupy movement.

"I suppose when I was writing 'V for Vendetta' I would in my secret heart of hearts have thought: wouldn't it be great if these ideas actually made an impact?" Moore told The Guardian last November. "So when you start to see that idle fantasy intrude on the regular world ... it's peculiar. It feels like a character I created 30 years ago has somehow escaped the realm of fiction."
