President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's two daughters were a centerpiece of the president's 2008 presidential campaign. This time around, as the commander-in-chief sought re-election, the girls were kept out of the spotlight.

Malia Obama, 14, and Sasha Obama, 11, made their return to the stage for Dad's acceptance speech on election night 2012.

Barack praised the girls, saying, "Sasha and Malia, before our very eyes you're growing up to become two strong, smart, beautiful young women, just like your mom."

The Obamas famously promised they would get their daughters a dog once they made it through the 2008 election. But Barack's second victory, he says, doesn't mean they will be adding to their four-legged family.

The president continues, "I will say that for now, one dog is probably enough.".
