Lucille Bliss: Voice of Smurfette dies at 96

Katy Perry may have played Smurfette last, but Lucille Bliss played her the smurfiest.
She was the voice of the first female Smurf on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, "The Smurfs," but Bliss was perhaps best known for her role in the 1950's animated series, "Crusader Rabbit."
Animation historian Charles Solomon tells the Los Angeles Times, "She was a pioneer in television animation."
Over time, Lucille lent her voice to Elroy Jetson and Bamm Bamm Rubble, among other memorable animated characters.
She passed away Nov. 8, 2012 from natural causes.
