Kirstie Alley: Patrick Swayze and I were in love

Kirstie Alley is finally talking about a life-changing relationship she had almost 30 years after it happened. The "Dancing with the Stars" contestant has revealed that she and Patrick Swayze fell in love while they were filming the 1985 ABC miniseries "North and South," despite the fact they both were married.

"We did not have an affair," Alley tells Entertainment Tonight. "But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It's doubly bad."

Alley, who was married to Parker Stevenson at the time, writes in her new book, "The Art of Men," that despite telling herself, "Do not go down this road," she did proposition her costar one night. But Swayze, who was married to Lisa Niemi up until his death in 2009, turned her down. Despite the fact they didn't consummate their relationship physically, Alley claims they were in love with one another.

"We were creating a future together, but we were both married," she says. "After Patrick, I made a decision that I was not ever going to involve myself with anyone married."
