Jodie Foster will receive the Golden Globes' Cecil B. DeMille Award

Jodie Foster will be the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement at the 2013 Golden Globes.

"Jodie is a multifaceted woman that has achieved immeasurable amounts of success and will continue to do so in her career," says Aida Takla O'Reilly, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "Her ambition, exuberance and grace have helped pave the way for budding artists in this business. She's truly one of a kind."

Foster is a two-time Golden Globe winner, for "The Accused" and "The Silence of the Lambs," and has been nominated five other times. She's also directed a handful of features (most recently "The Beaver") and produced several others through her company, Egg Pictures.

Foster, who turns 50 on Nov. 19, is also one of the youngest recipients of the DeMille Award. She's been acting since she was 3 years old and earned her first Oscar nomination, for "Taxi Driver," at age 14. Her next film, "Elysium," is due for release next summer.

The 70th annual Golden Globes, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will air Jan. 13 on NBC.
