Jamie McKay: '16 and Pregnant' star tweets sonogram after abortion

Jamie McKay, who starred in the third season of MTV's "16 and Pregnant," recently became pregnant for the second time. Faced with the prospect of having a second child at age 18, McKay chose to have an abortion.

And tweeted about it. With a picture.Of her ultrasound.

"Rest in peace little angel. September 17, 2012," wrote McKay.

In response to sympathetic responses from followers who (naturally) assumed she had miscarried, McKay elaborated:

"Thank you all for the love and support but I want you to know I did not miscarry. I chose abortion. I chose it out of fear. I feel like I made a mistake and I can't take it back."

(She did, however, delete the picture after outraged Twittizens called her "sick," among other slurs.)

McKay also said that Ryan McElrath, her boyfriend and father of their 2-year-old daughter, Miah, "has been supportive through it all in case you all were wondering," adding that "he is the father of that child too. And he let me make my decisions."

Finally, McKay reassured the Twittersphere that she is using birth control, a contraceptive implant called Implanon.
