Harry Styles: Taylor Swift gets death threats from One Direction fans

One Direction's rabid fan base has not taken kindly to the news that Taylor Swift is dating Harry Styles. 

The American Music Awards' favorite country female received a barrage of tweets from so-called "Directioners." The Sun covers some of the highlights (low lights), such as "I'll murder Taylor Swift. She will not date my Harry" and "If u dating my harry, I kill u [sic]."

Some fans were more supportive, however, tweeting comments like, "If Harrys [sic] dating Taylor Swift, good for him, he'll just get a load of songs written about him when they break up."

The death threats against Taylor are just the latest in an alarming trend of celebrity abuse on the micro-blogging social network. Adele was the victim of Twitter death threats coinciding with the news of her newborn.
