George P. Bush files papers to run for office in Texas
Is the world ready for another George Bush? One more member of the Bush political dynasty is throwing his hat in the ring in Texas -- this time it's George P. Bush.
George P. is the grandson of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, and nephew of former Commander-in-Chief, George W. Bush.
Pundits have sometimes batted about George P.'s name as a next generation political asset for the GOP. As the son of Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and his wife, Columba Bush -- a native of Mexico -- George P. is fluent in Spanish, and has been active in building bridges to the Latino voting base.
Bush has served as an intelligence officer with the U.S. Naval Reserve in overseas combat zones. The Houston Chronicle reports the 36-year-old filed paperwork with the Texas Ethics Commission. It's not yet known what office Bush plans to seek.
