Aimee Mann turns Barry Manilow's 'Mandy' into 'Sandy' - 'One of the dumbest things I've done'

California singer/songwriter Aimee Mann was in New York for a week of performances when Hurricane Sandy hit this week. She weathered the storm that left much of the northeast ravaged and without power from a hotel in Brooklyn.

While two of her shows had to be rescheduled, Mann was back onstage on Wednesday (Oct. 31) at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. She took the opportunity to debut "one of the dumbest things I've done": "Sandy," sung to the tune of Barry Manilow's classic "Mandy."

A topical novelty -- including references to Osama bin Laden, Con Ed, Nw Jersey Governor Chris Christie, President Obama and next week's election -- it's doubtful "Sandy" will have much staying power. Catchy though it may be.
