Tony Scott early autopsy report reveals he took antidepressants before his suicide

tony-scott

Tony Scott might not have been suffering from brain cancer at the time of his suicide, but an early autopsy report for the late director did confirm that he was on the antidepressant Mirtazapine and had the sleeping medication Lunesta in his system when he jumped to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles on Aug. 19.

Reuters reports the news, though the site adds that a final report is still two weeks away. The results from the autopsy still don't help explain why Scott, the 68-year-old director who had helmed "Top Gun," chose to end his life.

With cancer ruled out of the equation, the autopsy also revealed that Scott wasn't suffering from any serious illnesses. It could be that we'll never discover what specifically led Scott to end his life, but we hope his family is able to find peace.
