Stephen Colbert will appear in 'The Hobbit' trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, seriously
Colbert played coy about the possibility of a cameo in an interview with Playboy magazine (NSFW link), but The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Emmy-nominated host of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" will in fact pop up on screen.
There are no details on what kind of role Colbert will play, how much screen time he'll receive or whether he has any dialogue, but he proudly revealed he speaks Elvish in a 2006 interview on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
Apparently Colbert's appearance will not come in the first film, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," opening Dec. 14. That leaves either 2013's "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" or 2014's "The Hobbit: There and Back Again." We'll just have to wait and see.
