National Coming Out Day: Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ricky Martin and more tweet their support
Thursday, Oct. 11 is National Coming Out Day -- a day to celebrate and embrace people who publicly identify as bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender. Some of our favorite celebrities have taken to Twitter to celebrate the occasion."Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson tells his story in 140 characters or less. "It's National Coming Out day! I had to come out to my dad 3 times! I'm considering coming out to him AGAIN today just for old times sake," he says.
Senator John McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, writes, "Happy National Coming Out Day. Today we honor those who live their lives with such honesty and bravery."
Tony Award Winner and "Private Practice" star Audra McDonald remembers, "Happy National Coming Out Day! Be proud. As my Nana use to say 'As long as u don't hurt nobody Nana doesn't care what u are. Nana loves u.'"
Ricky Martin pointed out a powerful video that helped him decide to come out of the closet, thanking Tyler Oakley for making it.
Boy George joked, "It's national coming out day! I'm going back in! Lol!"
