Katy Perry and John Mayer dating again: Couple spotted celebrating Mayer's 35th birthday

Just a week after reports surfaced that John Mayer and Katy Perry had called it quits, the two lovebirds were seen getting lunch in New York City on Tuesday (Oct. 16), which just so happens to be Mayer's 35th birthday.

But it's not the first time Perry, 27, and Mayer have been spotted together following the breakup rumors, reports the New York Daily News. On Sunday, the pair was photographed leaving Pearl restaurant together.

"She's been really depressed and needs attention," a source told the Daily News when the pair reportedly split. "She really liked him and thought it was going to be something serious."  

The source adds that Perry had been drunk texting Mayer to get him back. So let this be a lesson about the positive power of (alleged) drunk texting ...
