James Blunt quitting music. Also: James Blunt was still making music
James Blunt is retiring from the music business. "I just want to take some time out for myself," the singer-songwriter tells the Daily Mail. "I haven't got any plans to do more songwriting. I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I've spent a lot of time in Ibiza, where I have a villa."For anyone who thought James Blunt had already quit music -- years ago -- here's what he's been up to since his five Grammy nominations (including Best new Artist and Song of the Year for "You're Beautiful") in 2007:
- Contributed vocals to a charity single for Haiti, "Everybody Hurts" in 2010.
- Released third album, "Some Kind of Trouble" in 2010, selling more than 1 million copies.
- Toured that album for about a year.
- Announced retirement.
The latest announcement on Blunt's official website says his tour manager was nominated for "Tour Manager of the Year" in the 2012 Live UK Music Business Awards. So, there's also that.
