Elizabeth Taylor dethrones Michael Jackson on Forbes' Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list

He may be the King of Pop, but in the kingdom of dead celebrity earnings, Michael Jackson's rule has been usurped by a new queen -- Elizabeth Taylor. Forbes has released its annual list of Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, and Liz dethroned MJ after a two year reign.

Taylor's estate earned a whopping $210 million last year, while Jackson's estate raked in a not-too-shabby $145 million.

Forbes notes Mike will probably regain the throne next year, as his revenue streams -- which include a 50% share of catalog earnings by Sony artists such as The Beatles and Lady Gaga -- are steady, while Liz' earnings last year were bolstered by a one-time auction that brought in an astronomical $184 million.

Third on Forbes' list is Jackson's pop predecessor, Elvis Presley, who raked in $55 million from the great beyond. Peanuts creator, Charles Schulz and reggae legend, Bob Marley round out the top five.
