Drake finally earns high school diploma three years after graduating 'Degrassi'

Jimmy Brooks might have graduated Degrassi in 2009, but Drake never earned his own high school diploma -- until now, that is.

The 25-year-old actor-turned-rapper dropped out of high school 10 years ago to pursue stardom after earning his recurring gig on "Degrassi: The Next Generation" in 2001. But he's apparently realized that not having his diploma was a mistake, as Drake has been working to get his GED.

"97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!" he tweets. "Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND."

We want to offer Drake our sincere congratulations on this big accomplishment. It would be easy for a celebrity as successful as him to leave his past in the rearview mirror, so it's exciting that Drake decided to put his education first and complete high school. But he hasn't put his career aside while he's been studying: Drake is currently working on his third album.
