Donald Trump on 'Letterman': Obama offer is about 'transparency'

Donald Trump was on "The Late Show with David Letterman" Thursday night (Oct. 26) and naturally, Letterman had to ask about his challenge to President Obama regarding the president's college and passport records.

"What did I miss in this? Why do we want to see President Obama's college records?" asks Letterman.

"Transparency. Does that make sense to anybody? Seriously, transparency," says Trump.

"I assume and I hope that his records are perfect," Trump continues. ""He picks up $5 million for his favorite charity. $5 million. From me. Immediate. Check written. I'd even go more to be honest; there, you have a scoop."

"My god, Don, if you took a look at my college records, and for the love of God don't show them to CBS, they'd take this show from me so quick my head would spin," cracks Letterman, still wondering what the president's records have to do with anything.

Meanwhile, Barbara Walters has told Trump to stop -- "You're making a fool of yourself."
