Victoria Beckham shows at New York Fashion Week: Spring 2013 is black and white with texture all over

Victoria Beckham put on her fashion designer hat on Sunday (Sept. 9) at her line's spring 2013 show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Models showed black and white with contrasting pops of red in sheath dresses, shirtdresses, skirts, lingerie-inspired tops and a few pants. Beckham was backstage inspecting every item before it made its debut.

''It's the first time I've gone so delicate, but I wanted the design elements," she says of the line, according to the New York Daily News.

She also says her line this season is more about texture than drawing attention with a crazy color palette, referencing her own black dress she wore to the show, which mixes canvas, lace and chiffon.

"I want to design what I want to wear," she says.
