Tom Brokaw hospitalized at Democratic National Convention in Charlotte

Former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw, 72, is in Charlotte, NC this week covering the Democratic National Convention for NBC. On the set of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Thursday (Sept. 6), Brokaw complained of light-headedness and was taken to a local hospital.

NBC has released a statement, "On the set of 'Morning Joe' this morning, Tom Brokaw felt light-headed. Out of an abundance of caution, he was taken to a hospital. He is being evaluated and is in good spirits."

There is no word yet as to when Brokaw will be released, but it does not sound so far like it is anything serious. We will keep you posted as to any updates on the newsman's condition.

UPDATE: Brokaw tweets, "All is well Early AM I mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual. Made a better comeback than Giants... "
