Sheryl Crow on Lance Armstrong: Singer questioned by feds in doping investigation
Sheryl Crow, Lance Armstrong's former fiancé, was interviewed in late 2011 by federal agents investigating allegations that the disgraced champion cyclist used performance-enhancing drugs, the New York Daily News reports.
Armstrong, who was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles Aug. 23 after abandoning his fight against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's drug investigation, dated the Grammy-winning singer from 2003 to 2006.
In cyclist Tyler Hamilton's forthcoming tell-all, "The Secret Race," the Daily News says Armstrong's former teammate claims both the Spanish apartment and private jets Armstrong shared with Crow were "critical" to [the cyclists'] doping schemes."
Crow wrote and performed the theme song for "Katie," Katie Couric's new syndicated show, and is scheduled to appear on the Sept. 10 premiere.
