Sara Rue is pregnant with her first child

Actress Sara Rue is about to take on the role of motherhood.

Rue, who stars in ABC's new comedy "Malibu Country" this season, and husband Kevin Price are expecting their first child, People reports. The baby is due in early 2013.

An ABC rep tells Zap2it the producers of "Malibu Country" -- in which Rue plays a very friendly new neighbor of series star Reba McEntire -- haven't yet decided whether they'll write the pregnancy into the show. The series debuts in November.

Rue's other TV credits include "Popular," "Less Than Perfect" and a recurring part on "Rules of Engagement." She also hosted The CW's reality series "Shedding for the Wedding," after becoming a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig and losing some 50 pounds herself.
