Johnny Lewis death: Ex Katy Perry 'devastated' - report

Singer Katy Perry is reportedly "devastated" after learning of the death of her ex-boyfriend, "Sons of Anarchy" actor Johnny Lewis, a source tells Us Weekly.

Perry and Lewis dated from 2005-2006, and the source says Perry could tell Lewis was troubled even then.

"She had to separate from him ... to get ahead and focus on her career," the source says. "He was in trouble then and she couldn't help him. A lot of her songs were partially inspired by him. I know 'The One That Got Away' and 'Circle the Drain' are partly about him, as well as Travis [McCoy of Gym Class Heroes]. But she was young and it was a time in her life she cherishes."

Lewis' body was discovered Wednesday (Sept. 26) in the driveway of a home, where he either jumped or fell from the roof following a fight with his 81-year-old landlady, Catherine Davis, who was found dead inside the home. Police suspect Lewis beat Davis and her cat to death.
