Foo Fighters play massive New York City show; is it their last for a while?
The Foo Fighters were one of the headliners at a huge free show in New York's Central Park Saturday (Sept. 29). And according to frontman Dave Grohl, it may have been the last chance for fans to see them -- at least for a while.Along with Neil Young and the Black Keys, the Foo Fighters headlined the Global Citizen Festival, organized by the Global Poverty Project. They played a full set dotted with their hits, but it was something Grohl told the crowd early in his time on stage that's grabbing headlines.
"Without making a big deal out of it, we don't have any shows after this. This is it, man," Grohl says. "... Honestly, I don't know when we're gonna do it again."
Grohl has said a few times in recent weeks that the band would be taking a hiatus. They're done touring for the moment and don't have a new album in the works, and Grohl has several side projects as well.
Here's video of Grohl's remarks Saturday, plus the performance of "Learn to Fly" that followed.
